Men's Ministry

Welcome to the Men’s Ministry at LCGS.

We are a community of men committed to living out our God-given calling, grounded in the teachings of Jesus Christ and empowered by His Spirit. Our ministry exists to help men grow in their faith, build deep, authentic relationships, and serve both within the church and the community. Through biblical manhood, we seek to make a lasting impact in our homes, workplaces, church, and beyond.

The Men’s Ministry at LCGS is dedicated to empowering men to live out their God-given calling through the lens of biblical manhood. We seek to honor Jesus Christ in all we do, build authentic relationships rooted in faith, and champion the principles of biblical truth and values. Together, we aim to strengthen our homes, nurture a Christ-centered church, and influence society with integrity, courage, and love.

Our vision is to cultivate a community of men who are committed to spiritual growth, mutual support, and service. We aspire to be a reflection of Christ’s character in our families, church, and the world, shaping the next generation of men to boldly follow Jesus, lead with humility, and live out God’s purpose in all areas of life. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we will build lasting relationships, stand firm in God’s truth, and transform our community for His glory.

  • Spiritual Growth — 2 Peter 3:18
    Encouraging men to deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ and grow in spiritual maturity through Bible study, prayer, and discipleship.

  • Brotherhood — Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
    Building genuine relationships rooted in trust, accountability, and support, where men can sharpen one another and walk alongside each other in faith.

  • Leadership — 1 Timothy 3:1-2
    Equipping men to lead with integrity in their homes, workplaces, church, and communities, reflecting Christ’s servant leadership.

  • Service — Matthew 20:26-28
    Mobilizing men to serve others in practical ways, demonstrating the love of Christ through action and outreach to those in need.

MEN’S MINISTRY BREAKFASTS
Every first Saturday of the month from 9 am to 10:30 am in the Community Life Center the Men’s Ministry offers a breakfast to all LCGS men as well as any visitors they wish to invite.  The goal of these breakfasts is to provide an opportunity for fellowship and spiritual growth in areas of need and interest based on input of LCGS men.
 
 
MEN’S MINISTRY ANNUAL RETREAT

Each year the Men’s Ministry offers an Annual Men’s Ministry Retreat, the purposes of which are bring men together in same location for longer period of time, develop an deepen relationships between men at LCGS, continue to equip LCGS men to be effective servants of Christ, and enjoy God’s creation, recreation, and great food.

The 2025 Men’s Retreat will take place between September 5-7 at Idyllwild Pine Retreat Center.  The approximate cost per person is $100-150.  Please contact Marshall Saville at marshall@saville.com if you are interested.

 

MEN’S MINISTRY SERVICE PROJECTS

The Men’s Ministry also offers men opportunities to engage in quarterly service projects or service projects that occur more frequently.  The goal of these projects is to empower and equip men to actively engage in the mission of Christ both within the church and in the broader community.  Objectives include discipleship and spiritual growth, serving others, leadership development, building brotherhood and accountability, and evangelism.  By focusing on these objectives, men’s ministries can make a significant impact on both individual lives and the surrounding community, helping fulfill the larger mission of spreading the Gospel and serving others.

Thus far, the Men’s Ministries 2025 Quarterly Service Projects have included painting a number of classrooms at LCGS and providing support for the LCGS Annual Women’s Spring Fling.  Upcoming quarterly projects include preparing food for the June 18 LCGS Family Day and providing food deliveries to shut-in families during the Thanksgiving/Christmas Holiday Season.  

More frequent, on-going service projects include assisting on Fridays with food packaging at Community’s Child in Torrance, working with Habitat LA ReStore to construct housing for the homeless in Torrance, and helping Habitat for Humanity with the construction of housing in Long Beach on August 25.

Brothers in Arms

Welcome Brothers in Arms, where we come together to study the Bible and apply its teachings to our daily lives. Our primary goal is to deepen our understanding of God’s Word, which will enable us to become better representatives of Christ in our communities.

Our group is committed to fostering an environment of learning, growth, and accountability. We encourage one another to live out the principles we study in the Bible and support each other through prayer and fellowship.
