Adult Life Groups

Adult Life Groups are where we do life together! These smaller groups are an essential part of helping everyone connect at LCGS and grow in faith together.

ALGs meet to study God’s Word, pray, enjoy fellowship, and share the joys and challenges of life. This is where we develop lasting friendships and build a community that stretches far beyond Sundays.

There are lots of options! Feel free to visit as many ALGs as you like. Find the best fit for you — newcomers are always welcome!

Ephesians Six Parent Group

We are parents of children, birth through the teenage years, who offer each other support as we navigate the stages of parenting. We strive to grow in our faith and parenting journeys through Bible study and fellowship. Our group is founded on Ephesians 6:1-4 which says, “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. ‘Honor your father and mother’—which is the first commandment with a promise—so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy a long life on the earth. Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.”

We meet Sundays after church. All parents are invited to join us.

Contact Kristen and Carlos Anwandter for more information.

Alive in Him

“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.” Matthew 4:19

The call to follow Jesus has never been an invitation to pray a prayer, believe a set of doctrines, or sit in a pew. Yet churches are filled with people who seem content to settle for casual association with Christ and a nominal adherence to His
commands. David Platt teaches that the call to follow Jesus is a summons to lose our lives. To live as a disciple of Christ is to be transformed from the inside out and empowered to make disciples from every nation, tribe, language, and people.
Dying to ourselves and living for Christ offers indescribable joy, deep satisfaction, and an eternal purpose. Are you ready to answer the call?

Pastor Paul's Group

Our group will be going through Max Lucado’s study, He did it for you.

When you think of the cross, what thoughts come to mind? Steeples? Gold necklaces? Churches? Or do your thoughts go deeper? Do words like these come to mind: Jesus. Nails. Blood. Pain. Death. Tomb. Empty. Joy. Promise. Life. Savior!

The words of the cross are so full of pain. So full of passion. So full of promise–God’s promise to each and every one of us. His promise to do whatever it takes to save your soul. He did this just for you.

He Did This Just for You shares the story of salvation in a new light, taking you through three distinct pieces of the puzzle:

  • The Parable–God’s longing for us
  • The Promise–God’s gift for us
  • The Privilege–God’s invitation to us

He Did This Just for You is the perfect way to introduce the gospel to friends and acquaintances through Max Lucado’s warm and easy-to-understand writing style. Experience God’s grace and plan of salvation for the first time or use this booklet to share the message of hope with someone you know.

Book of Ezra

The book of Ezra provides an account of the return of two groups of Jews from Babylon to Jerusalem, where they rebuilt the temple and their community. The Book of Ezra is a chronicle of hope and restoration. For the Christian whose life is scarred by sin and rebellion against God, there is great hope that ours is a God of forgiveness, a God who will not turn His back on us when we seek Him in repentance and brokenness (1 John 1:9). The return of the Israelites to Jerusalem and the rebuilding of the Temple are repeated in the life of every Christian who returns from the captivity of sin and rebellion against God and finds in Him a loving welcome home. No matter how long we have been away, He is ready to forgive us and receive us back into His family. He is willing to show us how to rebuild our lives and resurrect our hearts, wherein is the temple of the Holy Spirit. As with the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem, God superintends the work of renovating and rededicating our lives to His service.

Equipped

Who is God, and how can we know Him? The Bible claims to be the direct revelation of our Creator. So if the biblical record is true, it is a primary means by which the God of the universe has revealed Himself to mankind. However, if it can be proved false, then the God of whom it speaks is simply one more pretender in the assembly of gods that man has created.

In Is the Bible Reliable? Dr. Stephen Moyer challenges you to examine the historical and archaeological evidence to determine for yourself the veracity and accuracy of Scripture. Is the Bible true? You decide.

Equipping Ministry

Equipping Ministry is vital for every growing Christian community of faith as we seek to understand in more depth each of God’s gifts, which gifts He has given us to use at this point in our lives, and our unique team style.  God uses knows us best, our joys/ passions, how we operate, our comfort zones and style of team interaction.   This class/ small group is designed to explore where God sees our individual ministries and then mobilize effectively to continue to train and release others as well into meaningful ministry in our church family and beyond.

Phase2 Parenting

We are a group of parents of adult children (at least one child 18 or older) who offer each other love and support as we navigate this “next phase” of parenting where our children either are or are becoming “adults”. Our group uses various books and other media to guide our bi-weekly discussions on how to be loving, Christian parents as our children explore their own adulthood – whether they still live with us, are out on their own, are single or married, are thinking about having their own children or already have them, and everything in between. Some of us participate with our spouses and others do not; some of us have many kids and some of us just have one. Come join us as we explore and support each other in Phase2 Parenting!
